WHOMISOMI

Do you have an embarassing or funny island story you'd like to share?
Did you hit a shoal and sink your boat?
Run out of gas in the middle of the river?
Forget to put the plug in your boat and watch it sink before your very eyes?
Well here is the place for fellow residents to air their embarassing moments.
Anonymously or otherwise.
Tales told here are protected under the WHOMISOMI rule.
"What Happens On Mink Island Stays On Mink Island"

I, for one, have had some embarrassing moments on the Island, typically induced by excessive alcohol served by an un-named high school gym teacher. Including, but not limited to:

Complimenting a neighbors cleavage in front of his own wife (I'm sorry - and yes, I was severely punished)

Hurling loud enough to be heard in freaking Morristown

Running out of gas in the middle of the channel with follow Mink Islanders on board

Driving around the island at 3AM, seeing double, because it seemed like a good idea at the time

Founding the Mink Island Men's Association (MIMA), solely for the purpose of rekindling an old affection for homegrown "stuff". We reluctantly invited the hot chicks on the island to be associate members because they were married to the regular members and we needed someone to sleep with on those cold nights.

Last, but definitely not least, waking up on Mink Island on December 30th with an inch of snow on the ground and 3/4" of ice everywhere the eye could see. That particular "happening" did not "stay on Mink Island", as I shamefully sold the images to Triumph Boats in exchange for "trinkets". You'll all be pleased to know that our adventure is immortalized in the 2008 Triumph boats brochure. Capitalism will make a man do crazy things...

To name just a few in my short Mink Island career...

Regards,

Anonymous MI resident

I believe there are at least 3 island residents that qualify for the "2007 Mink Island Shoal Clippers Award" and none of them seem to want to publish there "strike" on here. Do we also have an "engine overheating" due to driving in mud? Come on, let it be known. Fess up NOW.... Remember, what happens "near" Mink Island is also WHOMISOMI.
