West Side Story

The west side of Mink Island was busy with family gatherings last weekend.
The Navarra's celebrated some pre wedding festivities and the Ryan's enjoyed a reunion of O'Canada family members from across the river.
Island photographer Otto C. was on hand to capture some of the fun moments.

The recent fireworks at Little Fox were recieved with mixed reviews. Those that could see them, I think, enjoyed them. Those that could not, however, were not impressed, particularly the "grand finale" of firecracker strings donated by an anonymous Island resident, but lit by Chase Ryan of #7 at 11:30 PM.

When I asked Kelly, the cute Schermerhorn harbor master, how she enjoyed the fireworks from her parents home on Island 35, she said: "people have been complaining about them all day. Was that you guys?" I assured her that those darn Honeymoon Island people were at it again... How dare they?
