What is with all the critters on the island this year?
As cute as they are, they are destructive little buggers.
"Rocky" raccoon will not leave our grill alone. He doesn't even wait til it's dark to make an appearance. (And we've been hearing stories of in camp invasions. )
The squirrels are gnawing at the screen to come into our porch
and the chipmunks? They are so bold as to climb ON us looking for food. But they are camera shy, as I haven't been able to capture one on film quite yet.

Be careful what you're eating at the next pot luck picnic!

We've had the same experience down at #12. Cruz has been watching dilligently and chasing them up trees. The Mayor's platform for re-election contains some stiff comments on these critters, but he follows the "pro-life" (hav-a-heart) protecol vs. the Clint Eastwood make-my-day approach.
Question of the day? Can raccoons swim?

HA! squirrels are scary enough without the guns!
hmmm, is that the "swim with the fishes" have a heart method?
and yes they can swim cross the mighty St Lawrence from Oak Island to Mink. I've seen it with my own two eyes. (and so has Mason)
Squirrels with guns would be scary!! (see 2nd comment)
i love seeing this kind of pictures... whats the animal in e second pic? looks like a rat... thats kinda scary
Hi Celestine,
It DOES look like a rat in that photo! It is actually a squirrel though. You can't see it's long bushy tail. A bit cuter (to me) than a rat. But very pesky.
